The Carla comes from the breeding line of Rory Antolak, who passed the named clones A2 and RA7 to Samuel A., who later crossed them. The mother plant comes from the renowned breeder Jay Vannini: his Panamama line 1–4 combines his best-known papillilaminum forms, Fort Sherman and Ralph Lyman, with outstanding dressleri genetics from the Rio Guanche ecotype.
